Noriana Celtic Quintet
The Noriana quintet has a deep love for the Celtic musical tradition and has gathered some of its most beautiful melodies and songs: Irish dances such as reels, jigs and polkas, alongside songs about love, separation, emigration and, of course, alcohol.
The name Noriana comes from a fairy in an Irish folktale. The band was formed in 2015 and has since gone through several changes in its line-up. The use of the Greek lute in place of the guitar, combined with experimentation with different timbres and instrumental colours, has helped shape a distinctive, fresh and lively sound.
Irini Triantafyllidi – Vocals, Lute
Katerina Kordi – Violin
Aliki Papatetrou – Accordion
Kostas Parisiadis – Banjo
Ilias Patrinos – Bodhrán
